My Comic

This is my comic, it's about PB4L in and at school.Falakika and I did a comic about behaviour in the corridors. We created it by using photos.I think what people could do better is when we are in the line going somewhere, is not to jump or touch the top of the doors.

Panmure Bridge

Panmure Bridge
One day Room 8 went to the Yacht club to view the beautiful site of the first bridge that was built. The Panmure bridge was built in between Pakuranga and Panmure. It was actually a swing bridge.A swing bridge is a bridge that opens and closes for big boats to go under it.

In the olden days, There was a man called Hemi who owned farms in Pakuranga. Hemi produced oats, fruits, grains, veggies and had animals that he would transport in a boat called a punt all over the entire world to make money. But now the Panmure bridge has been demolished and has been made into a new bridge that will not break.

Two weeks ago something bad happened, a concrete bridge collapsed onto passing cars.It was sad because some were badly injured and some people survived. There was a police helicopter that came to see if they could hear any survivors, but unfortunately they couldn’t hear anything or anyone so the helicopter left.

One year ago a woman tried to cross the 8 lane highway. But while she was crossing she got hit by a car and passed away.

My sgraffito shows…
Mokoia Pa, was a  volcano that Maori people grew vegetables on because it had fertile soil. They also had fish to eat in the Tamaki River that was close to Mokoia Pa. The Tamaki River was also good to send vegetables by Waka. Mokoia Pa was a fortified pa that was built for Maori people to protect them from other tribes, that tried to steal their fish and vegetables.  It was good that they lived on a tall hill, so they could keep an eye on any tribes that came to steal their pa. The people that lived on Mokoia Pa were the Maori people. Did you know that before the Panmure Bridge existed, the bridge that was there was a swing bridge.

WALT: I learnt about Mokoia Pa. My challenge is for me to remember to add a space after a full stop.
